The use of the General Form Completion Framework Programme (ÁNYK) for submitting new tax returns and data reports will end on 31 December 2026. From 2027, the role of ÁNYK will be taken over by several online, data-driven and partly automated solutions. Businesses should therefore review this year which platforms and data connections they will use in the future.
What are the benefits of the transition?
NAV aims to make administration simpler, faster and more accurate through the new solutions. In the new system:
- real-time error alerts assist users in completing forms;
- pre-filled data reduce the amount of manual data entry;
- automated data connections may reduce the risk of errors.
What will replace ÁNYK?
ONYA – Online Form Completion Application. This browser-based platform requires no installation and primarily supports the administration of private individuals and small and medium-sized enterprises. Notification forms, change notifications, applications and tax returns, among other documents, can be submitted through ONYA.
eVAT. For VAT returns, the eVAT web interface, XML upload and machine-to-machine connection play a central role. The system supports the process by using data available to NAV, performing checks and providing draft returns.
NAV M2M. NAV also recommends machine-to-machine data connections for larger companies, ERP users and accounting firms. This enables API-based communication between a company’s ERP or accounting system and NAV.
Where does the transition currently stand?
The transition is already under way: NAV is continuously expanding the range of forms available in ONYA, publishing the technical documentation required for M2M integration and supporting the preparations of businesses, accountants and software developers through a dedicated knowledge base.
What should businesses prepare for?
The phase-out of ÁNYK will change the approach to tax administration in Hungary. In 2026, businesses should identify the affected tax returns and data reports, review the related processes and authorisations, and test the new platforms and system connections.
Preparations have also begun in the accounting profession. The developers of the BMD ERP and accounting system we use are working on adapting it to the new NAV platforms. Over the coming months, businesses and accounting firms that familiarise themselves with and test the new processes in good time, and prepare their employees for data-driven administration, may find themselves in a more favourable position.
